Donald Lester Hedges Sr.

Funeral services for Donald Lester Hedges, Sr., will be held Monday, May 10, 2021 at 1:00 pm at The Tabernacle of Praise 2200 East Fuson Road, Muncie, Indiana.  Officiating will be Pastor, John Tyner. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park, Muncie, Indiana, under the direction of Parson Mortuary and Cremation Center of Muncie, Indiana.

Visitation will be held Monday, May 10, 2021 from 11:00 am until service time at the church.

Those left to cherish his memories include his son, Donald Lester Hedges Jr., son, James R. Hedges, brother, Elbert Hedges wife Cheryl, brother, Sam Hedges, 4 grandchildren, Vicky Hedges, (Brian Fisher) Michael Brond and wife Katie, Amanda Hedges, Adam Hedges, 6 great grandchildren, Avery, Sydney, Taylor, Shayla, Amelia, Bub, along with his church family, numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Those preceded him in death include his wife, Helen Hedges, 2 daughters, Vicky Hedges, Brenda Braggs,  3 sisters, Martha Privett, Phyllis Johnson, Velma Bailey, one daughter-in-law, Vanetta Hedges, father, Lester Donald Hedges, and his mother, Ada Correll Hedges. 

Donald Lester Hedges Sr., was born on Wednesday, December 4, 1929 and went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday May 6, 2021 in Muncie Indiana. He worked for AC Delco Battery for 42 years. Donald married the love of his life Helen Hedges and was married to her for 58 years.   

Donald was a member of Tabernacle of Praise for over 35 years, and served as a trustee, and elder of the church, he loved to serve the Lord! That was the most important thing in his life as taking care of his family, taking them to church every Sunday and Wednesday night as well as singing in the church was his passion, he had a saying that he told everyone as they walked through the door at the church was, Roses are Red, Violets are Blue Jesus Loves You and I Love you Too. He will be deeply missed by all.  

Pallbearers will be Larry Terry, Adam Hedges, Brian Robertson, Steve Bolinger, Paul King, and John Herr.

Memorial may be made to the Tabernacle of Praise in honor of him.
