Edna H. (Davis) Wooten

Edna Wooten,89, went to her heavenly home late Thursday evening, January 26, 2023, at the Signature Health and Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness. She was born on December 1, 1933, in Muncie the daughter of Plennis Sylvester and Clara Opal Pauline (Green) Davis.

Edna was a 1951 graduate of Harrison Township School and Indiana Beauty College.  She had married Don Wooten in November of 1952 and he preceded her in death in 2007.  Mrs. Wooten had been self-employed as a Beautician who owned and operated Edna’s Beauty Hut for approximately 35 years.  She was a member of the Victory Temple where she taught Sunday school.  Edna was an avid bowler and bowled in several leagues most recently the Christian Fellowship Bowling League. Mrs. Wooten could be seen at Ball Memorial Hospital Volunteering with the Chaplaincy Dept. having prayer with patients.  Spending time with her family was very precious to her as well.

Survivors include one son, Terry Wooten (Millie), Muncie; daughter-in-law, Paula Wooten, Muncie; six grandchildren, Joshua Wooten, Desi (Patrick) Adair, Tara (Chelcy) Wooten, Kyle (Ashley) Brumback, LeAnne Barton, and Karl Tracy; sixteen great-grandchildren, Tarin, Austin, Pacey, Foster, Hadley, Dylan, Breanniah, Da’Leigha, Cory, Bailey, Makenzy, Katlyn, Karly, Kennedy, Kallie, and Krimsyn; three great-great-grandchildren; Jovie, Kash, and Hadleigh, one sister, Elnora “JoAnn” Allen, Muncie and one brother, Vadis Davis (Doris), Muncie; her best friend, Debbie Wooten, Muncie; several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband of over 50 years, Don, she was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Larry Wooten; one grandson, James Tracy and three brothers, Arlo, Gene, and Junior.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. at Victory Temple with Pastor Richard Bowen officiating.  Burial will follow at Hawk Cemetery.

Friends may call Victory Temple on February 3, 2023, from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service.
