Gary D. Maynard

Gary D. Maynard, 74, Muncie, passed away at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, January 13, 2021.  He was born August 3, 1946 in Muncie, Indiana, the son of the late William and Daisy Maynard.

Gary retired from Delco Remy in Anderson where he worked as a Utility Man.  His true passion in life was horses.  He was involved with horse racing most of his life starting with Trottingbred before moving to the Standardbred.  Gary was a member of the Indiana Standardbred Association and the United States Trotting Association.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Sharon (Chalfant) Maynard; daughter, Lori Anderson; sister, Vicky Sears, (husband-Dennis); and a brother, Paul Maynard, (wife-Kasuco).

He was preceded in death by his parents and four older brothers.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in Gardens of Memory Cemetery.  Parson Mortuary is entrusted with the arrangements.
