Kathleen Morris Obituary

"You were my Sunshine, my only Sunshine, you made me happy when skies were grey. You knew dear how much I loved you, but you had to go away."

Kathleen "Miss Kathy" Morris, 75, passed this life at her home in Farmland on Saturday, May 27th with her loving and devoted husband John of 47 years by her side. Kathy had waged a courageous six-month battle with cancer. Born December 3, 1947, she was the daughter of Verlin "Bud" and Refa June Horner of Muncie and was a graduate of Muncie Southside.

Kathy retired from First Merchants Bank after 35 years of service. She loved her customers, and they her. Miss Kathy was a marvelous cook, seamstress, gardener, puzzle worker, and friend. Kathy enjoyed traveling near and far with John, her best friend, and partner forever. They never parted after their very first date on March 27, 1976. Kathy loved all animals, especially all the kitties she and John rescued over their many years together.

In addition to husband John, Kathy leaves to cherish her memory, son Scott (Sears), grandson Conor (Sears), and special friend Teri Coffey and her family. Kathy's wishes were that she be cremated and that no services be performed. Parson Mortuary and Crematorium have been entrusted with carrying out those wishes. A memorial gathering of close family and friends will be scheduled at a later time.

John wishes to express his sincerest thanks to all the wonderful doctors, nurses, and other support staff at Ball Memorial Hospital and Cancer Center, the Hospice caregivers, and all the others who compassionately and lovingly cared for my dearest over her last six months, and to the staff at Parson's, for your kindness to me and tender care of Kathy, I'm forever grateful. If you wish to donate in Miss Kathy's memory, please support ARF in Muncie or any other animal rescue organization of your choosing.
