Linda Ellen (Colonis) Hawkins

Linda Ellen Hawkins, 61, went to her heavenly home on Saturday afternoon, May 20, 2023, at the Indiana University Health Ball Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.  She was born November 4, 1961, in Muncie the daughter of Paul Colonis and Patsy (Todd) Colonis- Bilbrey.

Linda graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1980 and later married the love of her life, Richard Hawkins on February 6, 1982, in Muncie and he survives.   Mrs. Hawkins was working at Reid Health Systems in Richmond, as a Professional Coder.  She was a member of the Burlington Dr. Freewill Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and was part of the Ladies Ministries, and the AAPC (American Academy of Professional Coders.  Mrs. Hawkins enjoyed going to the Beach and her vacation home in Florida.   Mostly, Linda treasured the times she could be with her family, especially the grandchildren.

Besides her husband of 41 years, Richard, she is also survived by 3 daughters, Tiffany Ridge (Darren), Hagerstown, Roxane Thornburg (Michael), Losantville, and Sarah Rogillio (Josh), Losantville; 1 son, Travis Hawkins, Noblesville; 7 grandchildren, Kortney Ridge, Hannah Ridge, Evan Thornburg, Landon Thornburg, Emily Thornburg, Gracie Rogillio, and Bethany Rogillio; Her mother, Patsy Todd; 5  brothers, Bob Todd, Art Todd (Debbie), Joe Todd (Sharine), James Colonis, Nelson Colonis (Melissa); 4 sisters, Raejean Atkins (Ray) Angela Crow (Steve), Kathy Shopher (Jeff)and Barbara Todd (Mac); several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, her step-parents Robert Todd and Frances Colonis; 1 brother, Mark Todd.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 26, 2023, at 10:00 A.M. at True Light Baptist Church located at 805 N. Country Club Rd. Muncie, IN 47303, with Pastors Dennis Trimble and Carl Norris officiating.  Burial will follow at the Mooreland Cemetery.

Friends may call at Parson Mortuary on Thursday evening May 25, 2023, from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and again, on Friday morning, May 26, 2023, from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at the True Light Baptist Church.
