Mary Jean Bertram

Mary Jean Bertram, 102, Indianapolis, was called home Friday, April 2, 2021 at Community South Hospital, Indianapolis.  She was born April 12, 1918 in Byrdstown, Tennessee, the daughter of the late James and Sarah (Howard) Byrd.

She is survived by her daughter, Cathrin Smith, (Doug Wilson), Indianapolis; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, John Cobb; second husband, Webb Bertram; four brothers, Dewey Byrd, Crosier Byrd, Horace Byrd, and Oren Byrd; six sisters, Nova Jaynes, Luecreda Pennycuff, Edna Toomey, Bessie Bertram, Arizona Wilson, and Delphia Byrd; and one grandson, Christopher Evans.

Services will be held at Parson Mortuary at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 9, 2021. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery.

Calling will be at the mortuary from 12:00 noon on Friday until the time of service.
