William Cook Obituary

MUNCIE – William D. “Bill” Cook, age 61, Muncie, died Sunday September 12, 2021 at home following an extended illness. Born in Muncie January 12, 1960, he attended Southside High School and was a graduate of Ivy Tech.  Bill taught Drafting and Design at Ivy Tech before becoming a residential/commercial electrician for Mitchell Electric in Knoxville, TN.  He and his wife lived in Knoxville from 2004-2012 before moving back to Muncie.  Bill had a great sense of humor, was an avid reader, a skilled musician, and devoted husband & father.  In earlier years he enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 31 years, Millie Cook; sons: Nick Collins (fiancé: Angie Richey), Huntington, and Chris Collins, Brooksville, FL; his father: Leonard H. Cook (wife: Theresa), Muncie; sisters: Judy Downhour, Ft. Myers, FL, and Mary Liles (husband: Butch), Chattanooga, TN; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Bill is also survived by several in-law siblings he was very close to.

He is preceded in death by his mother: Anna (Bertram) Cook, and an infant brother: Steven Cook.

There will be no public services; cremations arrangements are being handled by Parson Mortuary and Cremation Center.

Bill and his surviving family are very grateful to all the staff at the IU Methodist Hospital VAD Clinic in Indianapolis.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the American Heart Association.
