J. Joan (Dotson) Monroe

Anderson- J. Joan Monroe, 79, passed away Saturday January 7, 2017, at her residence following an extended illness.  She was born on April 4, 1937 in Muncie, the daughter of Ivan and Ruby (Hart) Dotson.

                Joan is a 1955 graduate of Royerton High School and later married the love of her life, John F. Monroe on July 1, 1955 and he preceded her in death November 13, 2008.  Mrs. Monroe became a homemaker and was a member of the CPC Sympathy Club through Fisher Body Corp in Marian, she enjoyed roller skating which she did up until her husband passed and doing needle point work.

                Survivors include one son, John R. Monroe, Sr., Indianapolis; two daughters, Pamela K. Pace, Indianapolis and Mary A. Maley (husband-David), Anderson; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren.

                Besides her husband of 53 years, John, she is preceded in death by her parents.

                Private family funeral services will were held at the Parson Mortuary.  Burial followed at the Tomlinson Cemetery.
