     EATON – Shirley A. Martin, 80, Eaton, Indiana passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2016.

     She was born April 11, 1936 in Muncie, Indiana the daughter of the late Gerald Wayne Terry and LaVerna Rose (Williams) Terry.  Shirley worked as a supervisor at Rock Tenn for 24 years before her retirement in 1993.  She was very well known for her love of dogs and would even drive around the town of Eaton making sure dogs had straw in their doghouses in the winter and water in their bowls on the hot days of summer.  She was very dedicated to her family and loved being a grandma and taking care of the babies.

     She is survived by three daughters, Teresa A. Martin, Muncie; Cheresa A. Johnson, Eaton, IN; Delinda A. Martin, Eaton, IN; two sons, Elvin “Les” Martin II, (wife-Melissa), Cowan, IN; and James Martin, (wife-Carrie), Dunkirk, IN; twelve grandchildren, Michael Williams; Jason Williams; Marissa Wills, (husband-Jonny); Kristy Waters, (Ronnie Frenzel); Reneé Brown, (husband-Dave); Taylor Farmer, (Keely); Jacob Martin; Michael Martin; Jason Farmer, (wife-Shayla); James Williams; Jeffery Cook; and Jennifer Martin; nine great-grandchildren, Dalton; Jamison; Brody; Olivia; Julien; Melinda; Marshall; Klay; and Aria.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and LaVerna Terry; and her husband, Elvin Les Martin I.

     Services will be held at parson Mortuary at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2016 with Larry Terry officiating.

     Calling will be at Parson Mortuary from 11:00 a.m. on Saturday until time of service.

     Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery, Muncie.

     The family would like to thank Linda H. and Bonnie form Kindred at Home Hospice for taking such good care of their mother.
