Muncie- Barbara J. Walker, 67, passed away early Thursday afternoon, October 20, 2016, at the Indiana University Ball Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. She was born o February 23, 1949 in Muncie, the daughter of Sherman and Cora Leesie (Mercer) Stevens.
Barbara attended Muncie Schools and later married Woodrow “Woody” Walker on September 25, 1989 in Muncie and he survives. Mrs. Walker had worked as a retail clerk throughout her career most recently for CVS Pharmacy until 2004.
Besides her husband of 27 years, Woody, she is survived by three sons, Mike Stevens (wife-Laurie), Sellersburg, Bryan Stevens (wife-Nikki), Brownsburg and Gary Van Natter, Muncie; one step son, Matthew Walker (wife-Cynthia), Dayton, Ohio; ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one brother, Donnie “Don” Brooks, Muncie; one sister, Mary Jo Ball, Parker City.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, William Brooks and Herbert Stevens.
A committal service will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2016, at the Marion National Cemetery 1700 E. 38th St. Marion, Indiana 2:00 P.M. with Celebrant Craig Malone officiating. Parson Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
Friends may call at the Parson Mortuary on Monday evening, October 24, 2016, from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
